Fine Art Studio Group Shoot

  • Rum Doodle Studios 24 Front Street, Fourth Floor Exeter, NH, 03833 United States (map)

Please join us for a small group shoot with multiple models in our studios in downtown Exeter, NH. We will have three hours of shooting in our strobe and natural light studios, a quick break with food, and then three hours where you can book one-on-one time with the models in either studio, or one of the other dozen rooms being made available for this event.

This is a shoot that will interest you if you:

  • are interested in practicing your fine art photography
  • wish to show and learn from photographers like yourself
  • want to see and experiment with new lighting setups
  • are comfortable with photographing nudes
  • like to work with new local models before hiring them yourself

The photographer:model ratio will be highly limited, and the lighting setups and flow of the shooting will be guided, so there will be plenty of time for every photographer to work with every model several times, and for every photographer to shoot with every set s/he desires.

Part I:

For the first three hours, we will build several lighting setups on two or more of the sets in Studio 1. Sets will be switched at least once every hour, so there will be several lighted sets over the course of the early afternoon.

Lighting setups will be varied to accommodate high-key and low-key setups on seamless, film noir style lighting, and beauty lighting.

In Studio 2, we will hold most of the area for a more active natural light set, and one corner by a window for more intimate, less active, sets. We will have plenty of fabrics to play with, and will introduce artificial lighting in at least one set so participants can experiment with our firecloth.

In the rest of the fourth floor, we have a secured a number of recently empty offices and a beautiful long hallway with gorgeous old softwood floors.

Part II:

After three hours of becoming comfortable with the models, the sets, and the available lighting and props, participants are invited to book the models for half-hour one-on-one sessions. These bookings will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation in Part I is required.
